Wedding books

The wedding book is the end result of our work, so we give it a lot of attention. We try to provide you with the greatest quality for the cost, as well as the pleasant aesthetic experience while you leaf through the book and reminisce about the wedding. One of the most frequent questions we get from the newlyweds is how many pages are enough. In the old days of analogue photography, when you had to arrange the number of photos in the album with the photographer, they took 15–20 % more photos, so when the failed ones were removed, there would be the exact number. Today, a photographer takes 1000 % or more photos than the number chosen for the book, making it extremely difficult to decide. The story of your perfect day is vital for our books, and we have to tell it through the photos we choose. These are usually the best photos, but there are more of them each year because we use all of our free time outside the wedding season to perfect our skills, learn some new tricks, master new equipment, practice new poses, etc. In general, the number of pages depends on the number of events at a wedding and the size of the wedding (number of guests), as well as our time engagement. During the initial arrangements, we always try to assess the number of pages as honestly and realistically as possible so that, ultimately, everyone is happy with the price and the service. Of course, there is no universal formula because each wedding is different. However, for most weddings where we visit the groom, the bride, have the photo shoot, go to church, the restaurant, etc., approximately 70 pages are needed. The most cost-effective size is A3 because of its largest surface. Smaller A4 books are a bit cheaper, but not much. The books always have an even number of pages, and we always design two-page sheets (40 sheets = 80 pages). Optimally, the average number of photos per sheet is 6. Sometimes the sheet holds 1 or 2 photos, and sometimes 12 or 16. If you need smaller books for your parents or the best man and the maid of honour, we recommend making A5 books identical to your larger book. We use the same prepress, so there is no additional work to charge.

The story of us

Types of Books

As far as books are concerned, we have two types: the Wedding Book and the Photo Book Leather. The main difference between them is that the Photo Book Leather has thinner, more bendable pages, whereas the Wedding Book has harder and thicker pages, like in children’s books, because of the cardboard between the sheets of photo paper. Also, the Wedding Book has a lay-flat binding, with all pages laying flat when opened (the left and the right page form a whole without a fold in the middle). The Photo Book Leather looks like a regular book with a fold between two pages. The photo paper quality is the same in both books. Due to its simpler design, the Photo Book is the more affordable option.

The Wedding Book can have 30–90 pages and the Photo Book Leather 60–180 pages. The covers are the same for both books, and there are approx. 140 colour and material combos available (faux leather, suede, fabrics). The same material can be used to cover protective boxes for your books. A standard book box is made out of cardboard and covered with bookbinding cloth or most of the thin materials used for the cover, but there is also the option of a wooden box covered with the same materials.
